Seoul, 2022 (Day 3)

Christmas cheer in Seoul- city style, with dirty snow.

Christmas morning! We had a traditional birthday breakfast of seaweed soup with chewy mixed rice. We also had a Christmas cake from Paris Baguette. I spent the rest of the morning resting alone quietly at the home stay, catching up on reading and stretching.

We had a lackluster meal at Tongin Market, then headed to the COEX Starfield Library to see the giant Christmas tree. We debated going to the aquarium, but reconsidered when we saw the giant lines filled with crying children. No thanks!

We were all exhausted from the crowds and ready to eat something delicious to make up for the disappointing meal we had earlier. We found a delicious restaurant nearby our home stay, filling up on tasty banchan with our grilled meat. As with Christmas Eve, the streets looked like any other night – bars, restaurants, and shops open, the streets filled with people.

Ended the night with a birthday cake. Yes, we had cake twice – arguably one of the best reasons to be Christmas baby!

Tomorrow we’re taking a train to Busan. Can’t wait!
